Carissa was born and raised in rural Michigan. After High School she joined the United States Coast Guard where she served 6 years active duty then finished her 23 year career in the Reserves. After active duty Carissa attended Shenandoah University where she received her degree in Environmental Studies. During Carissa’s environmental career she has worked with government agencies and industries as part of their environmental programs. Currently Carissa works for Resource Enviornmental Solutions (RES) as a Project Manager. She has obtained her accreditation as a Certified Environmental Professional, Envision Sustainability Professional, and Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control. Carissa spends her time free time involved with her young son’s many sport activities.
