This presentation will provide an overview of both traditional and new materials and construction methods that are being widely accepted as BMPs to address both I&I and pipeline erosion. A case study showcasing materials and construction methods that provide low-permeability ‘seals’ (i.e. minimize infiltration in pipe bedding material) will be presented.

Kevin VanTuyl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with an emphasis in Business from Missouri State University. He has been selling products in the Geo Market since 1988. In 1996, he received his C.P.E.S.C. (Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control) certification. Kevin spent six years as an Erosion Control Specialist for A.S.P. Enterprises, a St. Louis based distributor of geosynthetics and erosion control products. He was then promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager, a position he held for four years. Kevin has also worked as a Regional Manager for two of the industry's top manufacturers; he spent ten years with North American Green and two years with Central Fiber, where he actively worked with engineers in both the public and private sectors promoting the awareness of their erosion control products. He joined AquaBlok as a Regional Sales Manager in the spring of 2012 using his industry experience and contacts to help expand the company’s distributor network. In 2014, Kevin was promoted to Geotechnical Sales Manager overseeing all distributor sales throughout the country.
