The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is seeking attendee for its 2018 Annual Conference Mentoring Program. IECA will pair first-time attendees with members who are more experienced with conference attendance. When you register for a full conference pass you can celet to be a mentor or a mentee. Program mentors are those who are comfortable navigating the massive, and often daunting, annual conference and can provide guidance and tips to someone who has never experienced it before.
The Mentee Experience
Provides first-time participants an opportunity to enhance their meeting experience by connecting with colleagues and expanding their peer network.
Receive support and guidance.
Meet other professionals, networking opportunities.
The Mentor Experience
Connect with attendee (via telephone) at least once prior to the meeting to provide information about the conference experience and to answer any questions regarding session offerings, logistics, etc. Share the meeting experience with the attendee – assist attendee in meeting other members and be available to connect at networking events (receptions, breaks, breakfast, lunch or dinner).
Contribute to the profession by helping to develop future leaders.
Gain leadership and communication skills.
Grow and learn from the experience.
Applicants must be attending the conference for at least three days. Mentoring pairs should plan to meet with each other two times and be willing to remain in contact via phone or email during the conference.
