This session is unusual as it brings together all the participants in the smart thermostat universe, describing their unique perspective of the smart thermostat product and how the technology all comes together to generate demand response, energy savings and diagnostics in an experience that delights the consumer. Manufacturer (ecobee), Program Implementer (CLEAResult) and installation contractors will each describe their "link in the chain" and share examples of how it all works together to provide a stellar customer journey.

Keith Canfield is Senior Program Manager for CLEAResult, responsible for EE Programs for gas and electric IOUs in Arkansas. Prior to joining CLEAResult in 2016, Canfield was Director, Corporate Sustainability for the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), responsible for development and implementation of the Home Energy Affordability Loan (HEAL), North America’s first employee energy benefit program. Canfield joined the Clinton Foundation’s Climate Initiative after collaborating on an energy efficient rebuilding project in New Orleans which renovated 44 Katrina damaged New Orleans homes in 100 days, cutting energy usage for their low-income residents an average of 48% from pre-Katrina levels. The project received Affordable Housing Built Responsibly recognition in 2009. Canfield earned his BBA in Management from the University of Mississippi and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Sarah leads energy partnerships for North America east at ecobee. Based out of Toronto, Canada, Sarah spent ten years at a utility overseeing the EE and DR portfolios before pursuing her fascination with connected home. She provides leadership to countless committees in the energy sector and was recently elected to the AESP board of directors. Sarah has an Associate’s Degree in Construction Engineering and a Masters Certificate in Energy Sector Leadership. Her passion is disrupting the status quo.
