Heat Pump Water Heaters or Tankless Gas Units? What the heck are these CO2 water heating units? Do I need to do structured plumbing layouts if I have WaterSense fixtures? The water heating landscape is ever evolving with new products and new tools arriving to help us quantify benefits. The problem is that we all have some pre-conceived notions about what does and does not make a large difference. A particular lens will be to consider the impact in both Water Rating Score and the forthcoming Water Rating Index tools. This session will address common misconceptions about HPWHs, On Demand recirc systems, routine maintenance, plumbing design, and more.

• Prioritize equipment, plumbing layout, and efficient fixtures in providing hot water solutions
• Understand opportunities to bring smart technologies to the water heating landscapes through equipment and controls
• Explain the difference between gas fired heat pump water heaters, CO2 heat pump water heaters, and drop in heat pump water heaters
