2018 HPC National Conference Session
Window attachments have traditionally been thought of as aesthetic enhancements to a home. However, energy efficient attachments are an opportunity for homeowners to optimize their home’s comfort and save on utility bills. This session will educate participants on window attachments as an energy-saving solution, and will include information about the newly launched energy rating program through the Attachments Energy Rating Council and the developing ENERGY STAR specification for Exterior and Interior Storm Windows. Participants will learn about both programs and understand the ratings that underlie them. In addition, participants will hear from a storm windows installer about installation best practices and techniques across a wide range of building types, learn about the latest window attachment energy savings studies, and how to use these to promote window attachments as a viable energy saving measure to customers.
