2018 Ventilation Extravaganza

This workshop will cover a range of specific issues related to the ASHRAE 62.2 Standard. These include multifamily buildings, manufactured homes, differences between the treatment of new and existing dwellings, an overview of contaminants of concern, equipment selection, and best practices for ventilation equipment, installation, and control. There will be an opportunity to discuss topics that are more specific and those that are important to attendees.

Rick Karg

President
Residential Energy Dynamics, LLC

Rick Karg was trained as an economist, was a building contractor for ten years, and is now the president of R.J. Karg Associates and Residential Energy Dynamics, LLC. He has been working with weatherization and home performance programs and electric and gas utilities for thirty years as an educator and consultant. Rick is a member of the ASHRAE 62.2 residential ventilation and Residential Building Committees.

Applied Research Institute

Paul Francisco runs the Indoor Climate Research & Training group, which includes an IREC-accredited weatherization training program, at the Applied Research Institute of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He does both research & training on issues related to home performance. His research focuses on indoor air quality and energy efficiency in existing homes, emphasizing field measurements. His training focuses on teaching practitioners building diagnostics and health & safety. He is the current chair of ASHRAE’s Standard 62.2.
