Arnav Kumar, MD

Dr. Arnav Kumar is a current Cardiovascular Medicine Fellow at the Emory Univeristy School of Medicine. His research interests include coronary physiology, and structural interventions. Dr. Kumar finished his internal medicine residency from the University of Texas in 2015. He then spent 2 years in a cardiac imaging research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH). He simultaneously obtanied a masters in clinical research from the Drexel Univeristy (Philadelphia, PA). Dr. Kumar joined the Emory University and the Emory University Biomechanical and Imaging Core lab in 2017. His current work includes looking at various mechanisms that make a plaque 'vulnerable' using complex mathematical and computational fluid dynamic modeling.He also serves as a Co-chair in the Fellow in Training Working Group of the American College of Cardiology. He is an organizing committee member of the Emory Practical Intervention Course-South Eastern Consortium.

Dr. Michael Ragosta is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the University of Virginia and an Interventional Cardiologist with over 20 years experience. His main clinical interests include clinical hemodynamics, valvular heart disease, transcatheter therapies for aortic stenosis and the percutaneous treatment of high risk and complex coronary artery disease subsets including left main stem intervention, chronic total occlusion and multivessel disease. His research interests are many and include coronary physiology, new percutaneous treatments for valvular and coronary disease and coronary intervention in high risk subsets.

Dr. Anderson is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division at the University of Texas Health Science Center, McGovern Medical School, in Houston. His interests include acute coronary syndromes and ischemic heart disease, as well as clinical outcomes research in all cardiovascular interventions. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Emory University, where he also undertook his cardiology and interventional fellowships. He has over 20 years experience as a journal editor: 11 years as Associate Editor of Circulation (1993-2004), and 9 years as Associate Editor of JACC–Cardiovascular Interventions (2008-2017). Dr. Anderson is one of the founders of the ACC-National Cardiovascular Data Registries, and a past member of the ACC-NCDR Management Board, overseeing some of the largest cardiovascular databases in the world. In 2014 he received the Distinguished Service Award form the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Tanveer Rab is an Associate Professor at Emory University and an Interventional Cardiologist at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
He has practiced Interventional Cardiology for 25 years with an interest in complex coronary interventions including Left Main PCI, Coronary Bifurcation Intervention, High Risk PCI including Cardiogenic Shock and OCT imaging. He is an advocate of risk stratifying patients after cardiac arrest for PCI procedures and has written a manual for STEMI care for the AHA: Mission Lifeline, Atlanta region.Dr. Rab currently serves on the leadership committee of the Interventional Council of the American College of Cardiology and chairs their CHIP committee.

He was a partner of the late Andreas Gruentzig and participated in many of the balloon angioplasty and stent trials that formed the basis of modern percutaneous coronary intervention . His primary interests are in performance of complex coronary intervention and the treatment of drug-refractory obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with the alcohol septal ablation procedure .
