Dr. Anderson is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division at the University of Texas Health Science Center, McGovern Medical School, in Houston. His interests include acute coronary syndromes and ischemic heart disease, as well as clinical outcomes research in all cardiovascular interventions. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Emory University, where he also undertook his cardiology and interventional fellowships. He has over 20 years experience as a journal editor: 11 years as Associate Editor of Circulation (1993-2004), and 9 years as Associate Editor of JACC–Cardiovascular Interventions (2008-2017). Dr. Anderson is one of the founders of the ACC-National Cardiovascular Data Registries, and a past member of the ACC-NCDR Management Board, overseeing some of the largest cardiovascular databases in the world. In 2014 he received the Distinguished Service Award form the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Michael E. Halkos is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Emory University. He has been a leader in the field of robotic coronary artery bypass and hybrid coronary revascularization and has developed the program at Emory into one of the largest in the country. His other primary interest is in mitral valve surgery, specifically robotic mitral valve surgery. He has an NIH-funded grant in stroke research aimed at reducing stroke after cardiac surgery. He serves as the Associate Program Director for the Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program and is the Scientific Director of the Cardiothoracic Center for Clinical Research.

Dr. Michael A. Kutcher is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. His last half year of Cardiology Fellowship (January to June, 1981) was spent working with Andreas Gruntzig. He was recruited in July 1981 to start the coronary angioplasy program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC. He currently is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology Faculty, and Director of Cardiovascular Information Services at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He is the primary author or co-author of over 70 peer reviewed publications and has been institutional principal investigator on numerous multi-center trials.

He is the Director of Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery and Associate Program Director for the cardiothoracic surgery training program. His research interests encompass minimally invasive valve surgery, TAVR, and surgical simulation/education with prior grants from the NIH, TSFRE, and AHA. Dr. Nguyen has received numerous research and teaching awards. He was the past President of the TSRA, resident editor of CTSNet, and member of the ACGME/RRC. Additionally, he is the editor several surgical textbooks. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and volunteered as a surgeon in Africa (Asmara, Eritrea) for 6 weeks. Recently, he was a recipient of the Houston Business Journal's top 40 under 40 award, the Benjy F. Brooks Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award 2017, Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Teaching Award, and the Houston Business Journal Healthcare Heroes Award. He also received a first-place award from the American College of Cardiology for co-editing a transcatheter handbook.

He received degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from Bucknell University and an MD degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship, and interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Virginia and was on the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch prior to going to UNC. Dr. Stouffer's research is in smooth muscle cell growth regulation, the role of the cytoskeleton in regulating signaling pathways, thrombin generation, myocardial infarction occurring in hospitalized patients and renal artery stenosis.

Dr. Khaled Ziada is a Professor of Medicine and an Endowed Gill Foundation Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Gill Heart Institute of the University of Kentucky. He serves as the enterprise medical director of interventional services and director of the cardiovascular interventional fellowship program. He has been practicing interventional cardiology and peripheral endovascular therapeutics for more than 12 years. His research interests include revascularization techniques, antiplatelet therapy, and clinical outcomes. He has intense interest in quality assurance and improvement of coronary interventions, with particular emphasis on regional practices and outcomes of primary PCI. He is the principal investigator of the ACCELERATOR regional system of care for STEMI in central and eastern KY, a grant offered by the AHA in collaboration with the Duke Clinical Research Institute. He also directs the clinical research program of the Gill Heart Insitute and as such is the local principal investigator of many national and international trials.

He then directed new technology development for Novoste Corporation, focusing on intravascular brachytherapy for the treatment of coronary restenosis.
