Gary S. Mintz, MD, is Chief Medical Officer of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), Editor-in-Chief of TCTMD.com, and Managing Co-Director of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT). He is the author of approximately 1000 peer reviewed articles, 60 book chapters, 4 books, and 825 abstracts concerning various aspects of clinical cardiology, cardiac ultrasound, hemodynamics, cardiac radiology and coronary arteriography, interventional cardiology, and (especially) intravascular imaging and physiology. In 2005, Dr. Mintz published the single-authored textbook Intracoronary Ultrasound that has now been translated into Chinese. In 2014, Dr. Mintz received the Master of the Masters Career Achievement Award at the TCTAP-Cardiovascular Summit in Seoul, Korea; in 2015 Dr. Mintz received the Chien Foundation Outstanding Lectureship & Lifetime Achievement Award, also presented at TCTAP-Cardiovascular Summit in Seoul, Korea; and in 2017 Dr. Mintz received the Outstanding Achievement Award at CBS 2017, Nanjing, China.

Dr. Rajan Patel is a Senior Lecturer in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Queensland, Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Patel is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed categorical internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and fellowships in cardiovascular medicine, advanced cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology at the University of Virginia followed an endovascular fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center. Clinical interests include high risk/CTO PCI and percutaneous mechanical circulatory support. Research interests include reperfusion injury and patient quality/ safety outcomes.

Steven R. Bailey, MD, MSCAI

Dr. Bailey is a Tenured Professor of Medicine and Radiology and Chief of the Janey and Dolph Briscoe Jr. Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He specializes in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Bailey's clinical focus is in Congenital/Structural and Valvular heart disease in addition to Coronary Atherosclerotic Disease. His research laboratory is involved in investigating the effects of NOX subtypes in promoting cardiovascular disease. He has translational research in the field of nanotechnologies and nanosensors and holds several patents in these fields. He is the Program Director for Interventional Cardiology at UTHSCSA. Dr. Bailey chairs the UTHSCSA Promotion and Tenure committee. He is a member of the ACC AUC Task Force. Dr Bailey is a Past President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and is currently the Editor in Chief of Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, which is the official publication of SCAI. He is a Master Fellow of SCAI, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the Association of University Cardiologists, Association of Cardiology Professors as well as the International Andreas Greuntizig Society.

His main interests and fields of expertise in interventional cardiology include interventions for chronic total occlusions, atherectomy, acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock, and structural heart interventions.

EmmanouilS. Brilakis, MD, PhD, is an interventional cardiologist at the Minneapolis Heart Institute and adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is investigating treatment of chronic total occlusions and saphenous vein grafts, intracoronary imaging, antiplatelet treatment optimization post coronary stenting, radiation safety in the catheterization laboratory, and implementation of new technologies in healthcare. He has authored or co-authored over 500 manuscripts and has written the Manual of CTO Interventions now in its 2nd edition. He receives funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs and industry.

Dr. Massoud Leesar is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division of University of Alabama, Birmingham. He is an interventional cardiologist with over 25 years of experience in the field. His main research interest is physiologic evaluation of coronary artery disease, intravsacular imagings. He has published extensively in this area and has conducted many clinical trials.

Dr. Jaydev Desai is a Professor and BME Distinguished Faculty Fellow in the Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and the Director of the Georgia Center for Medical Robotics. He received his B.Tech from IIT Bombay, India; M.A. in Mathematics, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, from Penn; and completed his Post-Doc at Harvard University. He has over 160 publications, is the founding EiC of the Journal of Medical Robotics Research, and EiC of the Encyclopedia of Medical Robotics. His research interests are primarily in the area of medical robotics and cancer diagnosis at the micro-scale using robotics. He is a Fellow of IEEE, ASME, and AIMBE.
