This session will cover what has been learned and what is done to avoid complications providing optimal care to patients, applying surgical science principles and time-honored methods. Speakers will provide three pearls of knowledge they have learned from experience that are necessary to avoid issues.

• Discuss the evidence base for using different materials for altering the soft-tissue quality and quantity around implant restorations.
• Recognize that technology advances can be used for improved accuracy and precision for placing implants, with the final restoration in mind.
• Review the methods to fabricate immediate provisional restorations using digital planning.
• Identify new methods using tooth replicas to fabricate patient-specific implants.
