This session is eligible for Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education hours.

At these roundtable sessions, participants will share challenges and offer solutions pertaining to various health care issues. Participants and a dedicated facilitator at each table will discuss a set of attendee-submitted questions to kick off fruitful brainstorming and idea generation. Roundtable topics will include: ethics and swallowing, telepractice, diet modifications and the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), autism and social communication disorders, Medicare reimbursement and coding, and private practice and Medicaid (topics are subject to change).

Director, Health Care Services in SLP

Monica Sampson, PhD, CCC-SLP, is the director of Health Care Services in Speech-Language Pathology at ASHA. She assists in the analysis of federal and state trends that impact the clinical practice of speech-language pathologists in a variety of health care, and private practice settings. She also provides professional consultation and state-of-the-art information to ASHA members and related external professional organizations. Her experience ranges from clinical service delivery in post-acute rehabilitation settings, academic and clinical education and supervision, and research examining cognition and communication in individuals with acquired neurological disorders.
