This session is eligible for Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education hours.

Unreasonable workload expectations affect student progress, limit service delivery options, and infringe upon SLPs’ time to recharge. This session will provide resources to quantify workload and strategies to better manage workload duties. The speaker will also describe the steps Ohio SLPs and special educators took to develop a statewide workload rule.

Associate Professor
The University of Akron

Dr. Charles Carlin is an associate professor at The University of Akron in the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Before coming to the University, he worked as a school-based SLP, speech-language supervisor, and special education supervisor. Dr. Carlin is a member of ASHA’s School Finance Committee.
