Collaborative IEP Development: A Team Approach to Writing Student-Centered Plans (SC37)

Sunday, July 22
9:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Location: Room 301-303
CE: 0.2 ASHA CEUs/2.0 PDHs

This session is eligible for Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education hours.

Often times, IEPs are developed in silos, with each individual professional (SLP, teacher, OT, etc.) reporting on discipline-specific progress and writing next-step goals and objectives. In this session, the presenters will speak about the collaborative approach developed at Kennedy Krieger Schools: Fairmount Campus for developing individualized, student-centered IEPs in which the whole team addresses all areas of progress and goal writing. The session will present the Kennedy Krieger framework and discuss the steps and challenges to implementing it in order to achieve the best outcomes for students.
