This session is eligible for Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education hours.

Many working SLPs do not receive training during graduate school about the use and supervision of SLPAs, yet they frequently find themselves in a supervisory role. In this session, the presenter will describe ASHA's recommendations for the use and supervision of SLPAs, as well as discuss the supervisory process overall.

Holly Hanley, PhD, CCC-SLP, is the director of the SLPA program at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Appalachian State University and her PhD from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Hanley has worked as a speech-language pathologist for 17 years and has supervised SLPA students and SLPAs working in the field for more than 7 years.
