Shelley Chesney, MS, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert. AVT, has worked in a variety of settings for more than 25 years, including public schools, hospital, early intervention, and private practice. She is now the owner of Chesney Center Therapies, LLC, a private clinic offering speech, physical, and occupational therapy services to children and adults, with multiple locations in Louisiana. Chesney is an adjunct instructor for LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, serves as an advisory board member for the Southern University Department of Speech-Language Pathology, has previously served as Director of Healthcare for the Louisiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a current member of the core faculty of the Collaborative for Students with Unique Communication Needs, a project funded in part by a grant from the Louisiana Department of Education to train teams of school district personnel and parents regarding best practice management of students with unique communication needs. Chesney's true area of expertise is in working with families with children with hearing loss who chose listening and spoken language. She is currently the only LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist in Louisiana. In spring 2017, Chesney became a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.
