Lynn Marty Grames, MA, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Institute at St. Louis Children's Hospital, where she has served as a cleft palate speech specialist for 30 years. She is a member and past coordinator of ASHA SIG 5 (Craniofacial and Velopharyngeal Disorders) and a member of ASHA SIG 19 (Speech Science). She is an adjunct instructor at Saint Louis University in the departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Center for Advanced Dental Education. Grames' national and international presentation history includes invited and peer-reviewed talks on cleft palate speech evaluation and treatment, craniosynostosis, macroglossia, ankyloglossia, and collaborative care.She has a strong interest in educating speech-language professionals in those aspects of cleft palate speech disorder that can and should be treated with speech therapy and differentiating from those which require physical management.
