Lab: The Paradox of Potential in Career Development (PP04)

Friday, July 20
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Location: Room 314
CE: 0.1 ASHA CEUs/1.0 PDHs

This session is for the in-person event only and is not available with Connect On-Demand.

This session is eligible for Pennsylvania Act 48 professional education hours.

Following up on the discussion about one’s potential and how to maximize it, this lab session will be an interactive discussion with participants, drawing from their own experiences about what holds people (themselves or others they have worked with) back and the possible solutions to achieve more in one’s career. Potential does NOT equal results. The means to achieve results often fall into three buckets – plans, purpose, and people – and this session will identify ways to reach the desired outcomes.

NYP Speakers

Thom Singer, CSP, has an eclectic background working in sales, marketing, and business development roles for Fortune 500 companies, law firms, and entrepreneurial ventures. He believes that all opportunities come from people, and when we work together to find “cooperative significance” with others, we all discover more success. Singer is a professional master of ceremonies, speaker, trainer, consultant, and author of 12 books on the power of business relationships, business development, entrepreneurship, sales, legal marketing, and presentation skills. He speaks regularly at business and association conferences around the United States and beyond. Singer is also the host of the widely popular “Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do” podcast. On this show, he interviews entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and business leaders from a variety of industries. He encourages his guests to share tips and ideas that can help those with an “entrepreneurial spirit” find their own path toward success.
