Marla A. Corwin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Addictions Counselor, Senior Level. She is a recently retired faculty member of 25 years at the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine and College of Nursing, with 15 years as a Behavioral Health Specialist for the AIDS Education and Training Center. Marla designs behavioral health education materials and provides training on Motivational Interviewing and Strengths-Based Work with Patients, Retention in Care and Medication Adherence, Patient-Provider Communication, Risk Reduction and Prevention, Sexual History Taking, Suicide Intervention, Substance Use Disorders, and Grief and Loss. Marla spent 11 years managing an HIV clinic for injection drug users, and a number of years as a hospice volunteer. She is a proud founding member of PASWHA, who is now enjoying her own business providing contract consultation and training. Her non-HIV passions include travel, reading, and live theatre.
