Stephanie Hagan, LBSW, is the Lead Administrative Social Worker at Medical Advocacy and Outreach (MAO) in Alabama. Ms. Hagan’s area of Social Work expertise is in HIV case management and policy development, helping HIV positive patients access necessary medical and mental health care services through the creation and implementation of innovative service delivery programs. She specializes in providing direct social work services to HIV positive women during the perinatal periods and coordinating the ongoing surveillance of HIV exposed infants.
A graduate of Troy University, Ms. Hagan completed her social work practicumship at the Houston County Health Department and primarily worked with the Elderly and Disabled Medicaid Wavier, Family Planning, and Maternity Care programs. She created MAO’s policy for telemedicine social work services and has worked to fortify the delivery of social work services through telehealth since the Alabama e-Health Telemedicine Initiative launched in 2011. She regularly utilizes telehealth technology to provide social work services to clients and actively consults with organizations nationally on the successful integration of telemedicine, specific to the delivery of social work and mental health services.
