Claire Odom is a Social Worker and consultant with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Bureau of HIV (BHIV). During her year and a half with the Department, Claire has aided BHIV's efforts to better understand and meet the needs of older adults living with HIV in the New York City Area. Her work with the Bureau has focused on healthy aging with HIV, effective wellness strategies, and resilience in the Long Term Survivors community.
Claire completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Columbia University in 2017, focusing on long term disabilities and social welfare policy. She has previously worked in direct practice with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and with children and families – specializing in trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, and in improving community healthcare access. A native Texan, Claire has lived in Brooklyn for 6 years.
