Quality Management Specialist
Queens, New York

As the quality management specialists for the care coordination program, Scarlett Macias provides technical assistance to organizations in New York City receiving Ryan White Part A-funding to provide care coordination program services. Ms. Macias conducts site visits to organizations implementing the intervention, facilitates meetings of care coordination program providers, and collaborates in the design and delivery of trainings for care coordination program staff. Ms Macias joined DOHMH in 2016 and is responsible for supporting the care coordination and transitional care coordination programs with capacity-building assistance. She regularly provides guidance to program staff addressing service definitions, guidelines for documenting and reporting services and intervention implementation. Ms Macias also facilitates a peer-learning collaborative for care coordination program providers. Ms Macias has coordinated the update to the care coordination program redesign and is working on materials for the care coordination program manual, new programmatic trainings, and the health promotion education component of the care coordination program. Drawing on lessons learned from the implementation of health promotion education services, she will work with colleagues in DOHMH’s CBA center and consultants in professional development to update the content of the health promotion guide and design training to care coordination program staff in its delivery.
