Social scientist and social work professor at the University of Puerto Rico. She is a current scholar at the Postdoctoral Master in Clinical & Translational Research at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. Completed an NIH post doctoral training on HIV/AIDS STIGMA and a PhD in Social Policy Administration from the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Puerto Rico. Her research work has been funded by different institutions and her work has been published in many local and international journals. Her current research agenda focuses on health as a human right, immigrants and HIV in the Caribbean, inequalities in health, children and family mental health and globalization.
