Derek Martin is an accomplished Senior Cloud Solution Architect and public speaker with Microsoft. For over fifteen years, Derek has worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of industries to help them harness technology to meet their business needs. His time spent working with Azure infrastructure and as part of the extended Blockchain V team within Microsoft have allowed him to bear witness to the awesome impact cloud and blockchain technologies are having on our business community and society as a whole. Derek has fielded numerous engagements where customers learn why and why not to use blockchain and enjoys training customers on how to find the right business case for engaging this new tech in their industry. He has also been a public speaker since the ripe age of 14, when he began working with an international science foundation and traveling the world getting kids excited about learning. Derek lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and five kids (all under the age of 10) and when he isn’t driving the kids between athletic events or karate, dance and swim lessons, still finds time to write, watch movies and, mine the occasional Bitcoin. With Microsoft since 2015, his skills include Cloud Computing, Integration and Microsoft SQL Server. Derek’s passion for Azure led to him acting as an architect and designing new and exciting ways of leveraging Azure to accomplish long standing business problems.
