Session Description
There must be collaboration between payers and providers to provide quality care to patients that is both effective and reimbursable. As a non-profit patient advocacy, education, and research organization, the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) has recognized and acted on the need to educate health care decision makers from plans, pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs), specialty pharmacy providers, and insurers to promote comprehensive and sustainable care that is both high quality and cost effective. NHF and its educational partner, Impact Education, LLC (IMPACT), have implemented a multifaceted educational initiative consisting of more than 70 certified activities that have reached more than 30,000 health care decision makers since 2011. The results of these activities include changes made by payers to advance patient access to hemophilia treatment centers of excellence and providing a broader, more inclusive array of therapeutic options.
