Lynn Deutsch MSN, RN, CRNI, VA-BC has been a nurse for 38 years. Lynn has over 20 years experience as a vascular access specialist and currently works for the Seton Health Care Family in Austin, TX. In addition, she is also an associate professor of nursing at Austin Community College teaching Level 2 where registered nursing students focus on learning infusion therapy, infusion pumps, medication administration vascular access, pathology, and patient care management. Lynn is the founding president of the Central Texas Vascular Access Network. Currently, Lynn is president-elect for 2018-2019 for the Infusion Nurses Society.

Kimberly L. Vozar, BSN, RN, VA-BC

Clinical Nurse Pediatric Vascular Access Team
University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital

Kim began her nursing career in 1997 as a level III NICU nurse at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital (RBC) in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined the Pediatric Vascular Access Team in 2011. Her responsibilities include the insertion of peripheral IV's and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), and troubleshooting central line concerns. She also serves as a resource to the medical staff regarding vascular access needs, and assists in nursing education and competencies regarding central line maintenance and infection prevention. She serves as co-chair for the UHRBC Divisional IV Access (DIVA) committee, which is composed of a multi-disciplinary team comprised of vascular access champions, infectious disease physicians, infection control nurses, and quality improvement specialists. The DIVA committee's primary focus is reduction of vascular access related harm. Kim is a member of AVA as well as the Northeast Ohio AVA (NEO-AVA) chapter, and has recently been appointed to the NEO-AVA board.

IV Therapy Staff Nurse

Kimberly Sweeney has been a nurse for 35 years with a background in Critical Care and Oncology. She has been a member of the IV Therapy Team at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky for the past 7 years. Kim is involved in Research and Performance Improvement and was the recipient of St. Elizabeth’s 2016 Nursing Excellence Award for Research. She has spearheaded the development of her hospital’s Evidence Based PIV Site Rotation practice change and is in the process of putting into place an US-guided PIV Access Training Program for IV Therapy Team nurses. Kim has presented at multiple research symposiums and was a podium presenter and a poster presenter at the Association for Vascular Access Annual Scientific meeting in 2016.

Sheng Zhang, PhD.

Dr. Sheng Zhang has more than 15 years of experience in chemistry and is responsible for Adhezion's Research and Development. Since he joined Adhezion Biomedical in 2006, Dr. Zhang has directed research design, product, and technology development, and supported the validation processes for Adhezion's products. Together with his colleagues, he has developed several of Adhezion's products and processes. Dr. Zhang has written and submitted a series of U.S. and international product patent applications and is the inventor/co-inventor of more than 50 awarded patents and several dozens of pending patent applications. Prior to joining Adhezion, Dr. Zhang conducted chemistry research at North Carolina State University and Clemson University for several years. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Peking University in China, after which he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Louis Pasteur in France. Dr. Zhang has published over 35 peer-reviewed scientific papers in prestigious journals.
