You will learn how the entire experience made such an impact in the choices this nurse now makes for her own patients and how advocating for patients when it comes to vascular access is a critical component of our specialty. How far will YOU go to advocate for your patient’s? What are your limits on making the right choices? And what level of compassion do WE all have towards our patient’s in this very stressful era in healthcare today.

Alicia Lue has been a nurse for 24 years. Alicia currently holds a position as one of the senior vascular access specialists at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, for the past 17 years. Alicia is also a Clinical Nurse Educator for Genentech. Alicia’s accomplishments are as follows: Obtained National certification in the field of vascular access. Has had the privilege to speak at AVA, Flavan, and Pedivan. Is well known as being an advocate and nurse educator of vascular access. Alicia was one of the authors who helped to create the Peripheral IV Care and Maintenance MChex Course through the Children’s Hospital Association. Alicia is a proud member of AVA’s D-Team for the past 2 years.
