John T. Taylor, DNP, RN-BC, CPN
Assistant Professor of Nursing
West Chester University
John Taylor has been a pediatric nurse for his entire career. His most vivid memory of his early nursing career was placing a peripheral IV successfully on his first day as a brand new RN at West Virginia University Children's Hospital. From there, he knew vascular access was his niche. John completed the MSN and DNP programs at Chatham University while working as the Clinical Education Specialist for the IV Team at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. His DNP capstone focused on reducing peripheral IV infiltrations in children. As of 2014, John is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and maintains a part-time clinical practice as a Float Nurse at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. John is currently serving his final year of a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
