Changing clinical practices and culture can be a daunting task. Identifying institutional process, engaging leadership champions and persistence can bring about change. Beside clinicians become more engaged in the process when opportunities to participate are supported. Sustaining success requires constant support both in real time and "fun" educational opportunities. This presentation demonstrates our process in bringing about change in our #1 hospital acquired condition-PIVIE

Pediatric Vascular Access Nurse for the past 12 years with a background in neonatal nursing for 26 years.Instrumental in promoting change in the pediatric hospital for peripheral and central lines. Developed and taught the educational program for the initiation of the new extravasation practices and policy, active in central line education, developed the annual vascular access retreat for the pediatric service. Cheri was named to coordinator for the new Pediartic Vascular Access Service in Janurary 2018 which involved program development, organizational standards and orientation program.
