L4 — Subcutaneous Engineered Stabilzation Device (SESD): added Infection Risk?
Tuesday, September 18
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Location: C170
Presentation CE Credits: 1
What role, if any, does the use of a Subcutaneous Engineered Stabilization Device (SESD) relate to CLABSI? Does the use of SQ securement = increased infection? With dislodgement and catheter tip migration having long term consequences, including thrombosis, infection rates and aspects related to vascular preservation, we must continue to find ways to achieve better patient outcomes. Presentation will present data related to 4 years CLABSI rates within an academic medical center.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the relationship between securement and CLABSI
- Understand the significance of historical (4 year) data related to the use of Subcutaneous Engineered Stabilization Device (SESD) .
- Identify 4 year CLABSi rates related to SESD use in an Academic Medical Center.
