UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center
Mr. Babayan is a Specialist and Model Supervisor at the UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center located in the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, he helps build resilience in families, children and adults facing adversity and traumatic stress across a variety of circumstances. After delivering services—including family, group and larger presentations--to hundreds of military families aboard Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA, Tom now focuses on delivering these services to the veteran community in California. Specializing in couples work and telehealth service delivery, he currently supervises service delivery, including Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS), a strengths based, resilience building model for families, at the newly opened UCLA/VA Veteran Family Wellness Center located on the West Los Angeles VA campus. Tom has also served as a consultant and trainer for a variety of organizations, including the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, National Intrepid Center of Excellence, the National Guard University of Southern California, Los Angeles Unified School District, and National Military Family Foundation.
