CS1-13 - Teleneonatology Consulting: A Hands-On Experience

Review the practice of teleneonatology—and then dive right in. Observe a demonstration of a simulated consult, including the use of technology to support clinical decision making as well as documentation. Practice providing teleneonatology consults at one of several workstations and gain experience with the process, devices, software and clinical application. Evaluate how teleneonatology could benefit your regional practice.

Jennifer Fang

Neonatologist, Medical Director Neonatal Telemedicine
Mayo Clinic

Dr. Jennifer Fang is a neonatologist at Mayo Clinic’s Children’s Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. She is the Medical Director of the Neonatal Telemedicine Program and works closely with local community hospitals to manage critically ill neonates and assist in high-risk resuscitations. Dr. Fang received her medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in 2002 and completed her pediatric residency at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University in 2005. In 2016, she received a master’s degree in the science of health care delivery from Arizona State University, and in 2017, she finished her fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Mayo Clinic.

Chris Colby

Neonatologist, Division Chair

Dr. Colby completed his pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Stanford University. He served on the steering committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program and continues to work with the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. He is the Division Chair for Neonatal Medicine at Mayo Clinic and serves as the Medical Director for Pediatric Telehealth.

William Carey

Neonatologist, Associate Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Carey completed his pediatric residency at Stanford University. He completed his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of California San Francisco. He is currently a neonatologist at Mayo Clinic and serves as the Vice Chair of Research for the Division of Neonatal Medicine. He is the program director for Mayo's neonatal-perinatal fellowship program.

Beth Kreofsky

Operations Manager- Teleneonatology

Beth Kreofsky is an Operations Manager at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI with a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management of Information Systems and received her Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Beth serves as the administrative partner to the Teleneonatology Medical Director and manages the sustainability and growth of the program. Beth’s experience includes clinical process experimentation, project management, product management, and systems innovation. Beth has worked at Mayo Clinic for 19 years.

Gary Douville

VP Product
InTouch Health

Gary Douville, VP of Product, has 20 years of experience in engineering, product development, operations and Six Sigma quality. He was recently the Vice President, Operations, for Channel Technologies Group, a portfolio of private equity held companies. Prior to this role, he was the General Manager of Textron Defense Systems, Goleta Operations where he led the organization through a significant growth period during which sophisticated sensor-based systems were developed for a number of different applications. He began his career at General Electric where he was a Design Engineer, Program Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Program Director on a variety of product development efforts both here and in Europe and was also the Quality Manager for Manufacturing Operations in Puerto Rico. Mr. Douville earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and a MS in Management of Technology and Innovation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Technical Leadership Program (TLP) and the author of 10 patents.
