Recent advances in radiation therapy techniques and the success of new systemic therapies, such as targeted agents and immunotherapy, have improved outcomes for many patients with brain metastases. However there is now more confusion now on the role of Whole brain RT versus SRS and implications of targeted agents in managing these patients. There is also new information on gliomas, including the new WHO classification and this session will review the current state of knowledge on both high and low grade gliomas. The faculty will also discuss ongoing and proposed studies on this topic. Following the session, attendees should have a better grasp of the new information and clinical trials for this group of patients and to apply this knowledge when evaluating treatment options and making treatment decisions for their patients.
