Knowledge of radiation therapy target volume delineation is crucial for accurate and effective delivery of radiation therapy for tumors of the esophagus/gastroesophageal junction, liver tumors and anorectal tumors. Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is becoming a standard technique for colorectal liver metastases and primary liver tumors. Likewise IMRT is often being increasingly employed. This requires more in-depth knowledge anatomy and organs at risk. This session will cover the basics of lower thoracic, abdominal and pelvic anatomy and techniques to delivery radiation therapy more focally by incorporating motion management options. Given the common role of radiation therapy in the management of esophageal, liver and anorectal malignancies, detailed knowledge of treatment design is critical.
