This project contributed to our organization’s strategic objective of market share growth by improving productivity through breakdown time reduction at the vehicle assembly line. A structured problem-solving approach coupled with strong data-based analysis using statistical applications such as DOE, regression, and capability analysis led us to pinpoint the root causes. During solution development, nonrandom residuals were addressed through DOE to get more accurate and precise results. This business-critical project received multiple accolades from top management as it helped in producing 3,802 more vehicles, thus serving customers at the time of huge market demand. It also helped in improving the company’s revenue by INR 5,707 million (US87.8 million). Finally, this project helped the machine manufacturer improve reliability of their product by 81 percent, which emphasizes our company’s ideology of “Aapki jeet hamari jeet” meaning "In your victory lies our victory."
