AF02 - Game-Based Quality Culture: Let’s Play Family Feud

Monday, April 30
5:30 PM - 6:45 PM
Location: WSCC 4C 1-2

Level: Basic

The mission to improve health and maximize quality of life through education, research, and patient care can become complex at academic medical centers. Embracing healthcare quality by implementing lean and Six Sigma concepts into the culture is a major undertaking for everyone. The Medical University of South Carolina extended lean, Six Sigma, and quality learning beyond the routine of the traditional classroom experience. This session illustrates how to use familiar games—Family Feud, Operation, and football to name a few—to build an active learning environment that places students in a participatory role, rather than sitting for an entire lecture. Participants will experience and practice super-simple training techniques that will maximize participant engagement.
Please note, slides will not be posted, so not to give away the answers to the game
