This is an interactive session on how to use the five core tools such as advanced product quality planning (APQP), production part approval process (PPAP), dynamic control plan (DCP), a combination of the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and control plan (CP), statistical process control (SPC), and measurement system analysis (MSA) for both variables and attributes. Attendees will actively participate in the development of these tools across the session and understand their key functions in an organization. Participants will engage in hands-on activities across these five core tools and will take away models that they can use in their own environment.

Jd Marhevko is currently the vice president of quality, lean, and EHS for Accuride Corporation. Four Accuride sites have won the prestigious Manufacturing Excellence Award (2014-2016). She has been involved in operations and lean/Six Sigma efforts for almost 30 years across a variety of industries. Marhevko is an ASQ Fellow. In 2016, she was awarded both the Shainin Medal and honored as one of the top 100 Women in Manufacturing by Washington D.C.’s Manufacturing Institute. She is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) and is an ASQ certified trainer for a variety of quality tools. She is a Master Black Belt and has held various Baldrige assessor roles. Marhevko is a past chair of the ASQ Quality Management Division (QMD), a 24,000 member organization, and supports several ASQ divisions in a variety of capacities. Marhevko is a Howard Jones awardee, the QMD’s highest honor. She holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Oakland University in Michigan and a master of science administration degree from Central Michigan University.

Ed also helped to develop the new ASQ-CSQP certification, and is an Instructor for the Preparation Course. With over 20 years of manufacturing quality experience, he has served in various roles in and out of the medical field, including Plant QA Head for Husqvarna Outdoor Products; Head of QA/RA for Facet Technologies and Director of Quality, Molding Operations for Avail Medical Products as well as QA Manager roles at several other companies
