As quality professionals, we are often called upon to implement change. Whether it is a design, measure, analyze, improve, control (DMAIC) project or a corporate initiative, we need to understand the dynamics of change to assist in achieving improvement and strategic goals. Sustaining change is elusive. Are we to be guided by common change management myths? For example, it is enough if we have a communication plan or are assigned a change resource; change is soft, i.e., intangible, yet we need tangible results; our leader is charismatic so everyone will follow; etc.? Do we even need to consider change management if the change is small?
Come to this highly interactive workshop with a change implementation in mind and learn to create a personal approach to sustaining that change in your organization. We will identify the value and the traps of change myths, assess your personal change profile and readiness to lead change, examine initial and ongoing risks in change, and debate the dynamics of effective change approaches.
Learning Objectives:
- Utilize the results of a self-assessment to continually improve your change management skills for application to specific organizational changes.
- Select the best approach and the tools for change management to effectively lead change efforts.
- Identify the critical factors important to sustaining the change.
- Apply the learning to future efforts where they play a role in change management.
