Making a change is often very easy. Ensuring that change stays in place is where we frequently run into issues. When changes slip away, we lose the benefits those changes were meant to bring, as well as the resources it took to make those changes in the first place. This session will reframe the questions we ask when attempting to sustain changes and refocus where sustaining action emphasis should be put. Tools will also be explained that help select and prioritize the best sustaining actions, so that the benefits of changes can be enjoyed for a long time to come.

Shawn Perkins

Shawn Perkins is a senior member of the ASQ from the state of Kentucky with certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt and Quality Auditor. He holds a degree in Chemistry from Murray State University and a graduate certificate in Applied Statistical Strategies from the University of Tennessee. Shawn currently works for the Clorox Company as the Corporate Improvement Methods Pillar Owner. While currently focused in the area of manufacturing for work, Shawn loves the concepts of quality and continuous improvement because of their application to all areas of life and he is proud to be going through life's journey with his wife of 20+ years, Debbie, and his two children, Amanda and Eric.

Carolann Wolfgang has a Ph.D. in natural resources management from The Australian National University and a bachelor of arts degree in geology (honors) and environmental science from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a multidisciplinary practitioner and is cross-certified in the areas of safety, quality, and LEED. She is trained in collaborative negotiation and through Mediators Without Borders as an alternate dispute resolution specialist. Wolfgang has worked across the United States, Australia, Caribbean, and Europe for a variety of organizations.
