This session presents a kaizen system for small organizations looking to implement a continuous improvement structure that involves workers contributing with small improvement ideas that make a long-term difference. Think "evolution" not "revolution." The system ties in with lean manufacturing implementation as an open door for workers to think critically and implement what they have learned about 5S, eight wastes, kanban, safety, and more. This session offers real examples of the kaizen board and forms (and how it can be implemented in different companies); an idea log with review criteria; an implementation strategy for distributing ideas to get the most done in the shortest amount of time; a feedback routine; and prize-giving sessions that help workers' engagement and boost employee morale and productivity.

Learning Objectives:

Understand a kaizen board format and the types of forms used in this system that make it clear and easy to follow through.
Learn about the idea log and categories to filter ideas and make implementation faster.
Discover how to provide feedback in two ways (visual and in-person) for the kaizen ideas entered in the system.
See how motivation is maintained by linking kaizen ideas to workers' performance reviews, prize-giving sessions, and management engagement.
