The Ford Foundation headquarters major renovation is restoring Dan Kiley’s landmarked atrium. Challenges included plant selections adapted to the interior environment while sensitive to the historic design, acclimation procedures, steep slopes, and access. Innovative methods delivered the atrium on a tight schedule, requiring the contractor to accept nonstandard approaches.
