Michael Gera is a Partner with the Healthcare Computer Training Group, an Information Technology Training firm based in New York City. He is a graduate of Montclair State University (BA) and Florida State University (MS). Since 1982, he has worked in hospitals in New York, New Jersey, and Florida in a variety of technical and administrative capacities. He has conducted numerous technical training programs for a wide variety of healthcare professional associations, including HFMA, AAHAM, AAPC, AHIMA, APIC, ASHM, NJHA and other professional organizations. The focus of his business is to help healthcare organizations maximize their use of the Microsoft Office platform to better integrate and align clinical and financial operations. He also teaches courses in health informatics at the City University of New York (CUNY) and Rutgers University.

Elaine Strauss received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and completed a 2-year Health System Pharmacy Administrative Residency at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and Master’s Degree in Health System Pharmacy Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Strauss most recently held the role of pharmacy Operations Manager of Compounding Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. In this role, she was responsible for ensuring the safety of all compounding services of the main pharmacy, batch manufacturing pharmacy, and oncology pharmacy satellite. Previously, Dr. Strauss served as Manager of Operations at Forbes Hospital and Clinical Manager at West Penn Hospital, both part of the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in Pittsburgh, PA. In these former roles, Dr. Strauss was responsible for daily operations, implementing electronic health record and barcode scanning, and developing a discharge medication delivery program. Dr. Strauss is also an active member of ASHP where she currently the Vice Chair of the Advisory Group on Leadership Development. In her free time, Dr. Strauss enjoys traveling, running, yoga, cooking, and spending time with her husband and son.
