Cary A. Talbot, PhD, PE

Dr. Cary Talbot is the Chief of the Flood and Protection Division at the Coastal & Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL), US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) where he has worked since 1994. He has extensive experience in the development, application and teaching in the use of surface water and groundwater numerical models that address a wide range of water resource planning and engineering design applications including: water supply; water control; inflitration; groundwater flow, transport, and remediation. Currently he supervises the planning and execution of approximately 100 researchers conducting projects across a broad range of inland and coastal water resources-related areas. Additionally, he is the Program Manager for the Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operations R&D effort for the USACE. Dr. Talbot earned Bachelors and Masters’ Degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources from Brigham Young University and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
