396836 - A Research of the Risk of Abandoned Water in Wujiang River Basin Based on Historical Reduction

The abandoned water is a key issue in reservoir operation in southwest China, such as Wujiang River Basin which faces the risk of it in long-term operation because of unpredictability of stream flow. The study drew up a number of stream flow scenarios according to the frequency analysis of the long series stream flow data of Wujiang River Basin. The historical reduction method is proposed to simulate many stream flow process corresponding to one stream flow scenario, which can ensure the total stream flow is constant, and we can calculate the probability of abandoned water to describe the risk of abandoned water through long-term multi-reservoir optimization operation. It is found that this method can effectively describe the risk of abandoned water and provide guidance for reservoir operation.
