Mario Grüne de Souza e Silva is an Environmental Engineer graduated at UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) with academic honors in the CUM LAUDE degree and has a M.Sc. in Coastal Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ, during which he received the FAPERJ Straight ‘A’ Student Scholarship. Worked at PCE Projetos e Consultorias de Engenharia Ltda with Hydrology and Sedimentology and is currently a Coastal Engineering D.Sc. student at COPPE/UFRJ, under the guidance of Professors Claudio Freitas Neves and Paulo Cesar Colonna Rosman. From april/2017 to april/2018 stayed at the Franzius-Institute for Hydraulic, Estuarine and Coastal Engineering, of the Leibniz Universität Hannover, as a visiting Ph.D. Student under the guidance of prof. Torsten Schlurmann.
