Mr. Peter W. Kotulak, P.E. is an Associate and Senior Coastal Engineer with Moffatt & Nichol in their Baltimore, Maryland, USA office. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio and Delaware. His education includes receiving a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE) from Johns Hopkins University in 1994 and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Cleveland State University in 1982. Mr. Kotulak's professional affiliations include the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); the Coasts, Oceans, Ports and Rivers Institute (COPRI); the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA); and the Western Dredging Association (WEDA). He is a certified scuba diver and surface-supplied diver, M&N qualified boat operator, and a certified Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) remote pilot for small unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS). Mr. Kotulak works as a project manager and design engineer and has over 34 years of experience in coastal engineering, dredging engineering, and environmental consulting. Since joining M&N in 1994, he has specialized in projects involving coastal engineering with rock structures, sand for beach nourishment, dredging design and dredged material management including beneficial use, and environmental restoration of degraded shorelines and wetlands.
