Head of Wave Group, Coastal and Ocean Engineering Research Department
Port and Airport Research Institute
I am Katsuya Hirayama, Dr. Eng, working as the Head of Wave Group in Port and Airport Research Institute (PARI) of National Institute of Maritime, Port and Aviation Technology (MPAT) in Japan. The topics of my recent research are wave transformation, harbor tranquility, wave overtopping, infragravity waves, random waves and oscillation of moored vessels. I usually use a Boussinesq-type wave transformation model for numerical calculations and a Serpent-type wave maker for horizontal model experiments.
