Vincent Gruwez graduated in 2008 (magna cum laude) as a Civil Engineer with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering: water and transport at Ghent University (Belgium, Europe). Since then, Vincent has worked for IMDC (International Marine and Dredging Consultants) as a Project Engineer on various coastal and harbour related projects (product lines ‘Waves and Coastal Engineering’ and ‘Harbour and Marine Structures’). From 2014 on, Vincent was an Engineer-Advisor in the IMDC Department ‘Coast, Estuaries and Ports’ with expertise in wave and sediment transport modelling and was a member of the Team ‘Coastal Structures’. In 2015 he was also co-knowledge manager of the knowledge domain ‘Waves, Coastal and Sediment Dynamics’. Since March 2016, Vincent is pursuing a PhD at Ghent University on the topic of 'Wave Overtopping of a Climate Resilient Coastal Defence System with a Very Shallow Foreshore - A Systematic Approach by Numerical Modelling and Hydraulic Model Tests'.
