Dr. Timu Gallien is an assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UCLA. Previously she was a postdoctoral scholar and Chancellor’s Fellow at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of California, Irvine. Her research focuses on quantifying evolving coastal risks from sea level rise, storm events, and urbanization. She combines numerical models with high resolution field observations to accurately predict backshore vulnerability.
