Rik Gijsman is a coastal engineer graduated from the TUDelft in the Netherlands and the NUS in Singapore. Since the end of 2016, he is a research associate at the Ludwig Franzius Institute for Hydraulic, Estuarine and Coastal Engineering from the Leibniz University in Hannover, Germany. As a PhD student under supervision of Torsten Schlurmann, his research focusses on the evolution of nourished coastal profiles.
